Featuring a live concert at the world famous Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater, the Gala attracts the biggest names in music and entertainment, including Sir Elton John, John Legend and Darius Rucker.
The Gala features a cocktail reception, an extensive LIVE auction, an elegant dinner, and LIVE concert with a special musical guest.
Proceeds from the evening fuel the Foundation's work to handcraft a six-week summer learning program, overnight spring break camp and family nights; invest in innovative afterschool and summer community programs; and call on local, state and federal elected officials to provide real opportunities for all children and families outside the classroom.
The 2018 Feed the Peace Awards was an incredible night honoring Texas legends The Flatlanders and Dan Rather, who’s inspiring speech brought the crowd to their feet for long and sustained applause.
Thanks to generous donors and sponsors, Nobelity funded construction of a new Kenya high school dormitory, four new preschools, and a block of primary classrooms. This night was also key for their education work in Honduras and in Texas. New projects are already underway! Big thanks and big love!
Join us for the second annual Tailwaggers Neo-Gala. Named after film legend and animal activist Bette Davis' annual soiree in the 1930s-40s to raise funds for shelter pets, this elegantly casual affair combines fine vegan bites, art, nature, diverse music, amazing food, and the best craft cocktails in Austin!
Young Voices of Austin will be celebrating their inaugural season with their first winter concert titled, “Building Bridges” on December 3, 2017 at 3 pm in the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. The choristers, under the direction of Elda Garcia, will share a diverse program of music that showcases the value of peace and friendship throughout the world.
The YVA choristers meet at the Austin ISD PAC and the Utopia Theater at the UT School of Social Work and bring together a diverse population of students from 16 schools throughout Austin in its mission to foster musical excellence, leadership and academic achievement. For many of the choristers, this will be their first choral performance and their first time on the beautiful AISD Performing Arts Center stage.
We invite our Austin community to join in supporting these young voices as they share our vision of a kinder world which begins right here, in their home town.
Exact Time TBA.
Guests are treated to authentic food, embroideries, and textiles from Chiapas, Mexico.
For the second year, we are partnering with various local individuals and groups to hold a Back to School event at Parker Lane. The date will be Saturday, August 12th and there will be prep work the evening before. Please watch this wonderful video and let us know if you might be willing to volunteer your time for either or both dates. It’s an ambitious endeavor – in addition to providing each child with a new backpack and school supplies for the year, we are also working on securing volunteer services such as vision screening for the children, health screening for parents (blood pressure) and various sports activities and entertainment. And a sno-cone truck!
On Friday evening, supplies will need to be sorted by age group, donated clothes need to be sorted and laid out in the Sanctuary, tables need to be set up, etc. On Saturday – we need a team of Advocates to help families maneuver the process, people to staff the individual tables, help with activities, etc.
For reference, last year we were able to provide school supplies for ~175 local children (from Parker Lane and also from surrounding communities and schools).
We look forward to hearing from you! Let me know the date(s) and how you would like to participate. Creativity is great – face painting? Sports? Food? You name it!
As always, thanks to all of you for your continued support.
